Capable of all styles forms of music. Ian's love for music started at the age of 4. On a Muppet's issue drum set he would rock out to and Billy Joel and Beatle records. His began formal training in the 5th Grade when he met Met Big Band drumming master Howie Man. Howie instilled upon Ian a passion for the rich tradition of jazz. Howie was an unbelievable resource of experience and knowledge. After completing his training with Mann, Ian received a scholarship to North Texas State University. His college carrier was put on hold by a Tour of Japan with the New Amsterdam quartet playing Swing and Traditional Jazz. The group performed in Various nightclubs, and were featured artist at the Houis ten Bouch Resort for the summer of 1998 playing Concert venues for mass audiences.
After coming back from Japan Ian attended CW post where he received a degree in musical education. So Ian pursued the life as a freelance musician. Ian
Quickly became a fixture in the local jazz scene performing with many notables in the jazz circuit. Ian has worked as a studio musician playing drums on
The Bill Cosby TV series ?The Little Bill Show?. With the Anastasia Rene Jazz Quartet Ian performed in Concert halls and nightclubs and appeared on
Television throughout Russia. The Group performed in Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Moscow. After returning from Russia, the group performed at Carnegie Hall DEC 15th Thursday, 2005.

In addition to his carrier as a freelance musician Ian leads his own band "The Legacy Jazz Band". Ian formed the Legacy Jazz Band in 2000 with the intent to
resurrect the lost traditions of jazz the swing era and the American songbook.
The group performs a varied repitoir of Latin swing traditional and vocal jazz and Big Band Jazz.
